Viña Casablanca

Tasting note...
Cefiro Carmenere 2008 is intense, ruby-red with exuberant fruity aromas and floral notes of violets, and spicy black pepper combined with tones of cinnamon contributed by the oak-aging. The palate is rich in red fruit and spice, well-rounded, lush, and concentrated, ripe tannins.
Vineyard...
The Carménère vineyard is planted to a density of 2,666 plants per hectare. The variety’s natural vigor is controlled by restricted irrigation and vine management through pruning and leaf pulling to provide better solar exposure to the bunches.
Winemaking...
The wine is oak-aged in new and second-use French and American barrels for just 9 months in order to preserve the important natural characteristics of the wine, especially its excellent fruit expression. The new wine is bottled-aged for 3 months before being released to market.

Tasting note...
Deep violet red with aromas of ripe red fruit and spice that come together in a youthful, expressive combination. The palate is packed with ripe plum and blackberry fruits that blend perfectly with sweet spice tones.
Vineyard...
Rapel valley’s Mediterranean climate offers diurnal temperature differential. Combined with excellent vineyard management and hand harvested grapes it produces the highest quality fruit.
Winemaking...
Malolactic fermentation adds additional softness to this merlot which receives a 9 month period of aging in new and used French and American oak barrels.

Cefiro, Cabernet Sauvignon ‘08, Maipo Valley
Tasting note...
Deep ruby red with aromas of ripe blackcurrants, cherries and blackberries. This clean, fruity, young wine is silky on the palate with soft tannins and bags of fruit.
Vineyard...
The Maipo Valley vineyard with rocky sandy-loam soil lies in the flat area of the Los Nogales estate where the fruit is enriched by the flow of the rivers from the nearby Andes.
Winemaking...
9 months in French and American oak barrels with 35% new and 65% old to conserve fruit and avoid excessive oak flavours.

Tasting note...
Ruby red in colour with blackberries, cherries and subtle chocolate aromas on the nose. The palate is oozing fresh summer fruits with notes of tobacco and cinnamon.
Vineyard...
From the Casablanca Valley vineyards which lie in the western edge closest to the pacific ocean, the high summer temperatures are moderated by the coastal breeze and cool nights which allows for a long ripening period.
Winemaking...
Stainless steel fermentation to retain the freshness of the fruit and then aged for 8 months in French oak.

Tasting note...
Golden lemon with pronounced tropical fruit aromas, especially pineapple and banana. The tropical fruit lingers onto the palate – which is fresh, well-balanced with soft tones of vanilla and toffee. A medium bodied complex chardonnay.
Vineyard...
As is true of all of Chile’s finest Chardonnays, Cefiro hails from the Casablanca Valley. The regions special climate combined with the composition of terroir results in a long ripening period and very low yields.
Winemaking...
6 months in second year old French barrels to add an extra element of complexity.

Tasting note...
Pale lemon with an intense combination of floral and citrus aromas. The fresh fruit lingers onto the palate, which is well balanced with a soft tones of pink grapefruit and minerality. It’s a medium-bodied, intense and complex Sauvignon Blanc.

Chile’s finest Sauvignons, Cefiro are found in the Casablanca Valley. The regions special climate along with the composition of terroir results in a long ripening period and very low yields.

Fermented in stainless steel to retain the freshness of the fruit followed by 9 months in new and used French and American oak barrels.

El Bosque, Syrah 2007, Rapel Valley
Tasting note...
The El Bosque Syrah 2007 has a deep, intense ruby-red colour with ripe fruit aromas and notes of violets, vanilla and cinnamon. The palate is well structured with exuberant fruit, spice and butterscotch. Its full bodied texture blends perfectly with the elegance and complexity of the flavour characteristic.

El Bosque syrah comes from Pichidegua in the Rapel Valley, an area with privileged conditions for this variety. Grapes are all hand selected and harvested.
Winemaking...
Aged for a period of 14 months in second used French oak barrels followed by 6 months bottle aging.

Tasting note...
Pale lemon with a green hue and an array of delicate jasmine, green pepper and citrus aromas. Equally as delicate on the palate with subtle lime, grapefruit, white flower and mineral characters that linger generously on the palate.

The cool climate heavily influenced by it proximity to the sea, provides excellent conditions for this variety.

Nimbus, Chardonnay 2008, Casablanca Valley
Tasting note...
Intense, bright greenish-yellow color. It shows elegant aromas that recall anise, lemon peel, and apricot blended with typical notes such as mango, banana, and passion fruit. The fresh palate is well-balanced with good fruit volume and a nice, long finish.
The Vineyard...
The excellent climatic conditions and poor, well-drained sandy loam soils result in a natural balance for the low-vigor, drip-irrigated. Chardonnay vines, which in turn produce grapes with exuberant fruit aromas and flavors.
Winemaking...
The natural consistency of the grapes and their optimal maturity generates a complex, rich and well-balanced wine that does not require malolactic fermentation, which would undermine its natural style. Then, it rests for 6 months in french oak barrels.

Nimbus Gewürztraminer 2009 has a bright pale yellow color. In aromas it has floral notes like roses and white flowers. It has intense fruit character that resembles litchis. The palate is soft and has a long lingering finish. Perfect balance between delicate fruit and floral flavors with the freshness from its natural acidity.

Casablanca Valley is located between Santiago, the Capital City, and the Port of Valparaiso. It represents the icon of development of Chilean white wines in the last two decades.
Winemaking...
Like all our white wines, the fermentation is carried in stainless steel tanks and selected yeasts are used to ferment the musts.

Deep ruby red with aromas of blackberries, blueberries and rains that blend harmoniously with an elegant touch of French oak. It’s round tannins lend a delicious velvety texture. Complex and elegant, this merlot is a perfect example of the true potential of Colchagua Valley terroir.

The vineyards have remarkable terroir with thin soils and excellent drainage which creates a natural control of vigor and yields. As a results the grapes that go into this merlot are highly concentrated with excellent fruit.
Winemaking...
Aged for 18 months in new French oak barrels then left for a future 6 months in bottle before release.

Nimbus, Cabernet Sauvignon 2007, Maipo Valley
Tasting Note...
Our 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Nimbus Estate has a deep and intense reddish-purple color with a bluish tint. Aromatically complex, the nose combines menthol, plums, raspberries, and cherries with an elegant touch of black pepper, tobacco, and coffee. The palate shows an extraordinary concentration and balance, soft, ripe tannins, and a long finish.

Climate and loamy sandy texture of the soli are essential in the high concentration of fine aromas and flavour.
Winemaking...
92% Chardonnay and 8% Chenin this Sparkling Brut made by the Charmat method to retain the freshness of the fruit.
Neblus 2005, Casablanca Valley
Tasting note...
Deep violet red in appearance. The aromas are bursting with cherries and cassis mixed with floral notes. The palate is fresh, with balanced acidity and great structure. Sweet spice such as cinnamon and vanilla evolve due to the 18 months ageing in French oak barrels. A velvety-smooth body with a long, elegant finish.

Only produced in the very best vintages from the finest hand-picked grapes.
Winemaking...
90% Syrah; 10% Merlot.
Viña Casablanca Late Harvest
Tasting note...
Our Late is a unique Late Harvest wine with pale golden yellow color. It has sumptuous honeysuckle and lychees bouquet mixed with fresh citric notes. Rich and smooth with beautifully balanced sugar and acidity given extra interest by a touch of honeyed botrytis.
Vineyard...
The late harvest grapes come from the Casablanca Valley. Our vineyards are planted on the western edge of the valley, closest to the Pacific Ocean.
Winemaking...
The juice is decanted at low temperatures and the clear must is innoculated with selected yeasts. Fermentation takes place for 25 days at low temperatures. When the wine riches 14,5% alcohol, the fermentation is stopped.

Light and delicate Sauvignon Blanc with subtle aromas citrus fruit and fresh cut grass. The wine is true to the varietal and displays lots of fresh green fruit character which is beautifully balanced.

Lively pink colour with medium intensity aromas characterised by citrus notes which combine perfectly with soft red fruit aromas, The plate displays notes of fresh strawberries and raspberries. With on soft silky mouth feel and a lovely finish.

Tasting note...
Ruby red in colour with a purple hues, its medium intensity aromas show great balance between red fruit and a touch of spice. The palate is medium bodied wine with ripe red plums and blackberries. Its sweet ripe tannins and a well balanced a give a pleasant finish.
